🏷 The number of ENS names created surpasses 2 million

As per Dune Analytics stats, the total number of domain names created in ENS has reached 2,019,220 at the time of writing. And the number of primary names registered has totaled 375,835.

It took the registrar five years to reach 1 million registrations and only 3.5 months to get to 2 million. The company says the users’ activity has risen due to the upcoming merge scheduled for this fall.

The ENS manages the registration of .eth domain names that can be linked to an Ethereum wallet as its address. Its competitor, Unstoppable Domains, selling domains as NFTs, has surpassed 2 million registrations in February. Having received $65 million in a Series A funding round, it’s now a unicorn.

👨‍🍳 Gordon Ramsay to bring Hell Kitchen to Sandbox

The legendary TV show will launch a game for gourmets in the metaverse. The community will be able to make up new dishes, collect recipes, take part in various challenges, and compete for a chance to be a chef. Users will also access show-related items and avatars.

The American TV series has been produced since 2005 and has received five Emmy nominations. Ramsay’s restaurants have earned a total of 16 Michelin stars.

⭐️ Anthony Hopkins to launch NFTs

Sir Anthony is preparing an NFT collection of three “Eternal Collection” drops featuring his artworks. 10 animations will depict the renowned actor in various interpretations of the Jungian archetypes. They all are based on movies starring Hopkins. Each animation will feature 100 PFP. Additionally, a 1/1 montage of all archetypes will be released.

The NFT utility is classic, including IRL events, brunch with the actor, physical artwork with Hopkins’s autograph, and audio clips.

The preliminary drop date on OpenSea is September 16.

🚘 Australian petrol station network accepts crypto payments

The On the Run network has teamed up with Crypto.com and DataMesh, a local payment systems provider, to support payment with crypto across all of its 175 stations and stores. Now, it’s the largest chain in Australia to allow crypto payments. The network’s parent company eyes bringing the service to 250 more sites, such as Subway, Oporto, and Krispy Kreme.

Crypto.com representatives claim it took only eight weeks to launch and deploy the project. Such an experience will allow them to easily scale the number of sites and let other businesses in the country receive payment in crypto.

🏦 Direct payments & access to the federal reserves: new rules for crypto banks

According to the Fed’s guidelines, crypto banks will be able to get “master accounts” giving access to direct payments and the Fed.

Currently, only the banks registered on the federal level receive master accounts quickly, while Custodia and Kraken Bank have already faced glitches in application processing. It may happen because the regulator is uncertain about how to grant crypto banks access to traditional powers.

New rules are to introduce an updated structure for reviewing these applications, so crypto banks will be able to access the federal reserve quicker and act without intermediary banks.

📺 MTV creates a virtual space in the metaverse

The TV channel has chosen the Roblox platform to engage a younger audience. The MTV Video Music Awards ceremony is to take place here to let fans from all over the world attend it.

MTV has also announced a separate “the best performance in the metaverse” category. The list of nominees includes Ariana Grande headlining the Rift Tour in Fortnite, BTS in Minecraft, Blackpink in PUBG Mobile, Justin Bieber in Wave, and Charlie XCX and 21 Pilots in Roblox.

MTV’s move into the metaverse is an attempt to boost its ceremony’s ratings, which have gradually fallen to record lows over the past six years. 2021 was the worst in terms of viewing figures, gathering only 900,000 viewers.
