Manchester City FC to build a first metaverse football stadium
The stadium will be built in partnership with Sony. The primary mission is to involve as many club fans as possible — especially those who can’t attend games. So that fans can now meet players in the metaverse, interact with each other and buy products that are not available in real life.
VR specialists have already made the first sketches. The club’s stadium, Etihad, will be the main point of attraction with Man City’s “reecreated” games. Sony’s technologies, including Hawk-Eye for tracking the ball’s trajectory, will be used.

The candidate will be responsible for leveraging emerging technologies, such as Web3, for identifying possible growth opportunities, as well as building and experimenting on new products.
Crypto exchange FTX is launching a new gaming unit
Crypto exchange FTX runs a new team focused on introducing cryptocurrency and NFT in the game world. Thus, the exchange aims to become a “crypto as a service” platform for game developers allowing them to launch tokens and provide support for in-game NFTs.
“We’re launching FTX Gaming because we see gaming as an exciting cryptocurrency option,” said an FTX spokesperson. It isn’t the first project related to the blockchain theme launched by FTX: the crypto exchange participated in the recent launch of the NFT marketplace for the Coachella festival.

NFT vending machine installed in New York City
Solana-based Neon marketplace has started to bring digital collectibles to the masses — the marketplace installed an NFT vending machine in New York City, allowing people to buy NFTs in person with a credit card but without the need for crypto.
Neon identified some challenges in adapting new users to NFT. So they “repackaged” the token buying process to incorporate a more familiar transaction style. Thus, people now can buy NFT-based goods in a traditional style via the vending machine.
Users can make purchases through a number of fiat-based payment methods, including Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Samsung Pay.
